The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are on a five-day visit to Pakistan, this visit is thought to be of immense importance especially since this is a visit from any Royal couple since 2006. It is said this visit will give a boost to Pakistan’s struggling tourism industry and give a message that Pakistan is secured and open for tourists. It is also been reported by the British officials that Kate Middleton and Prince William tour was organized on request made by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Royal Couple has attacked the attention of the international media and pictures coming out of Pakistan are nothing less than elegant. For Pakistani’s this visit very special as Prince William is the firstborn of Princess Diana, whom the people in Pakistan adore to date. So, to honor her son after so many years is very special.
- Itinerary for the first two days
The royal couple landed in Noor Khan Airport on Monday, 14th October 2019 at 2130 hours, and were received by the British High Commissioner and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi who was accompanied by his wife. Preceding day, the Royal Couple started their activities early morning. On 15th they first went to a Margala Hills to visit the preserved parks and local girls’ college. Following this, they went to meet the President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, at the presidential house in Islamabad. Meeting with the President and his wife was rather short, the president himself came out to receive the guests.
The next meeting on the same day was scheduled with Prime Minister, Imran Khan. PM has had old ties with the royal family, especially with Lady Diana. During the meeting, PM was heard talking about Diana and he also should the Prince some of his old pictures of her visit. Later that night, the British commission organized a dinner in honor of the guests. During his speech, Prince William said that he was amazed at how Pakistan has overcome adversaries and has grown so much in such a little time span.
Preceding day the royal couple headed to the city of Citral in the Northern Areas of Pakistan, there they met with the local officials and then experienced beautiful traditional activities of the Kalash tribe.
- Visit Lahore
17th October, they will go to Lahore where they are scheduled to go to SOS village, PBC headquarters and ShaquatKhanaam Hospital.
